Setup Email on Your Android with K9Mail
K9Mail is an alternate email client for Android. It supports many advanced features such as Push email (IMAP IDLE), multiple email addresses, and alias email addresses. It can be downloaded and installed on your Android devices from the Google Play Store.
Step 1
When starting K9 Mail for the first time you will be presented with a welcome and overview screen. Tap Next to continue.
Step 2
Enter your email address and password. Then tap Next.
Speed Tip: Copy your email address. You will need to enter this a few times during the setup so it is nice to have it handy. To copy your address, tap and hold on your email address then select copy.
Step 3
Select IMAP as your account type.
Step 4
Change the incoming server settings to the following:
IMAP Server: mail.revly.net
Security: STARTTLS
Port: 143
Username: Your full email address
Authentication: Normal Password
When your settings match the ones above, tap Next. All other settings on this screen can remain as default.
Speed Tip: If you copied your email address in Step 2. Tap and hold to paste it into the username field.
Step 5
Change the incoming server settings to the following:
SMTP Server: mail.revly.net
Security: STARTTLS
Port: 587
Require Sign-in: Checked
Username: Your full email address
Authentication: Normal Password
When your settings match the ones above, tap Next.
Step 6
This screen lets you customize your setup. It is recommended to use the following settings:
Folder poll frequency: Every 5 minutes
Enable push mail for this account: Checked
Notify me when mail arrives: Checked
Notify me while mail is being checked: Checked
Tap Next when these settings have been modified.
Step 7
Enter a name for your account. A good name for the account is your email address.
Enter your name. This will be seen when people read your mail.
Tap Done to finish the setup.
